"Home is where the heart is."

Time has been flying which means my little baby is not a baby anymore and I can't even begin to think about how fast he's growing.  Luckily, he still gives me lots of hugs and kisses that melt my heart.
Street escargot- yum?                                     SO many different waffles!
                                                          Grand Place
We are f i n a l l y moved into our new place and all the boxes are gone.  It is amazing how much a little space can change so many things.  I feel like Jakob has become much better at walking because of it and he is really blossoming into a little boy.  We got him a little chair for his little desk and he climbs right up into it and starts playing with toys all by himself.  It is so adorable I can't even stand it sometimes.  He plays quietly for a long time in his room (only if it is lit up though) and sometimes comes out to hand me something but then goes right back.  If he wants to lay down and relax, he either does it on a pillow (or blanket or plastic or cardboard... really anything) on the floor or climbs onto our bed to read a book or anaylze something while helping himself to our bedside water bottles.  He's not a big talker and hasn't said a real first word yet but he runs around this place like it is his job and can moo like a cow.  And stairs are always his favorite- I'm sure it's helped that we always live on the top floor with no elevator (at least we are only 3 flights up this time!).

                                                                 baguette and banana
But I love it here and it is SO quiet- zero road noise.  Just birds and bells.  We put together all the ikea furniture.  Jakob really wanted to help with everything.  If he heard a hammer, he would come running and any cubby that was built definitely had to be sat in.  All I have left to do is to buy a few more organizational things, decorate, and sell a few things and then it will be complete!  It was definitely a challenge to finish packing by myself with Jakob unpacking alongside and then once everything was out (thanks to our great friends for helping!) we immediately started cleaning.  2.5 fulllll days of cleaning (thanks to our great friends/babysitters!) it was finished and we passed inspection!  Horray for it being over.  :)
Keukenhof
Petting Zoo time at the Keukenhof- He LOVED it
Oh but before we moved, the day after getting our new keys we went on a much needed family vacation (a first actually- that wasn't to the states at least!).  Brussels and Amsterdam were a lot of fun.  Not very family friendly and the weather was terrible but we had a great time and saw a lot of fun stuff- the Anne Frank house being my favorite.  We celebrated Easter in Brussels and Jakob got a few things in his Easter corner but I think we ate everything for him except for part of the waffle.  (I had about 3 chocolate covered waffles while we were there.)  He just does not care for eggs but eats everything that we do now in very large portions even if it's vegetables.  At least he really enjoys his little lunch box.  In both places, we had big enough hotel rooms to where Jakob slept in a separate section meaning we got to watch tv and I got to read!  What a vacation!

So in a week my best friend and her family will be here to visit and I could not be more excited!  Our boys are going to have a blast together and we are even getting out to Milan for a weekend.  We're hoping our new couch will be delivered by then so the futon can go in Jakob's room (where it's supposed to be).  And we also bought our plane tickets to China.  So it's official that we will be attending my brother's wedding!  What an experience.  :)  I'll post some pictures of our new place after it's all decorated soon!
